Diabetes mellitus

*one of major cause of black fungus

*factors which results in uncontrolled diabetes in covid are :-

*Stress,

*use of steroids,

*virus itself can destroy beta cells of pancreas(which produce Insulin in our body)

*Key point :-Never neglect diabetes mellitus in spite of COViD-19

*Lifestyle modifications :-

1)Diet :- intermittent small meals.. Take food 6 times a day. Each meal should be very small.

2)physical exercise :- 5 times a week, each lasting 30 minutes

*adjust the diabetes tablets(oral hypoglycemic agent) or Insulin depending on your FBS and PPBS and HbA1c

FBS -fasting blood sugar (blood sugar value in empty stomach )

PPBS-blood sugar value after 2 hour of intake of food

HbA1c is to assess glycemic control.(A blood test)

*Judicious use of steroids

*Stress management
